THE RECLAIMER: ATTN WESTERN CANADA, OUR TELL-ALL INTERVIEW, SK TOWN HALL DATES, AND WHAT WE NEED HELP WITH
HELP US ORGANIZE WESTERN CANADA! LOOKING FOR REGIONAL ORGANIZERS!
My friends, it’s been slightly over a month since this movement was launched back in early July. A lot has happened, but more importantly, there’s a lot more on the horizon, and we need your help to do it.
Our top priority as a movement is to build and grow riding associations from coast-to coast-to coast. We will host a town hall, as well as fundraising workshops, in every province and territory in the coming months.
On top of that, there are over 160 (out of 343) riding associations that are currently inactive, dormant or non-existent. We need to get those up and running to ensure that the grassroots have a way to get involved locally, no matter where they are in the country.
Which is why we need Regional Organizers to be our boots on the ground to get New Democrats together, help New Democrats in their communities get organized, and help their neighbours start their own riding associations. Right now, we are looking to onboard folks for Western Canada as we are first rolling out town halls in the west.
Does this sound like something you’d be interested in doing? Does this sound like something somebody you know would want to do? Fill out this form: https://forms.gle/JJQva7ynh1ufBV6T8
Will you be our boots on the ground?
DID YOU SEE OUR INTERVIEW WITH STEVE BOOTS?
On the topic of boots, this week Ji Won and I joined Steve Boots for an interview on his livestream this past Wednesday! It was a great discussion about what a “Reclaimed NDP” looks like, and why we have a structure-first approach rather than policy-first. We also got a chance to talk about our campaigns (Local Voices & Search 4 Leader), our hope for the leadership race, and much more.
I highly recommend giving it a watch, especially if you’ve been following us for the past month or so and still aren’t sure about our mission. But here’s what I want you take away from the interview: get involved with your local riding association, and if you don’t have one, help set one up. Oh yeah – and sign up for a membership.
You can watch the interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UrlZ84zvAw
And Steve, if you’re reading this. It was a pleasure chatting with you, and thank you again for having us on.
ATTENTION ALL SASKATCHEWANIANS! A TOWN HALL IS COMING NEAR YOU!
During our interview with Steve, we announced the upcoming dates of our Saskatchewan Town Hall! This will take place virtually in mid-September, and there will be two separate sessions. Feel free to attend one or both. This is a chance for New Democrats based in Saskatchewan to come together, discuss the recent election and the path forward in Saskatchewan.
The first town hall will take place on Wednesday, September 17th, at 6 pm CDT, and the second one will take place on Sunday, September 21st, at 2 pm CDT.
You can register to attend through this form: https://forms.gle/oExPKUfMjtNC5eD57
And any Manitobans reading this, last week we announced some town halls and fundraising workshops for you.
The Manitoba town halls take place on Wednesday, August 27th at 7 PM CDT, and Sunday, August 31st at 2 pm CDT.
And the fundraising workshops will take place on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025 at 7 PM CDT and Sunday, September 7th at 2 pm CDT.
You can register for the Manitoba townhalls & workshops through this form: https://forms.gle/xmsXshCNthNsQoZY9
KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING, MAINTAIN YOUR ENTHUSIASM
This past month has been a whirlwind. This movement has only been going for a month, and we’ve already seen some major victories. Our momentum is getting stronger each day.
I’m excited, and I hope you are too.
Since the Steve Boots interview on Wednesday, there’s been a large number of you who’ve been reaching out to your riding associations and getting involved on the local level. To those of you who have been doing that (you know who you are), thank you so very much. This is how we rebuild the party.
If any of you are reading this right now and haven’t gotten in touch with your riding association, it's never too late. You can find out how to contact your local riding association though Elections Canada using this link: https://www.elections.ca/WPAPPS/WPR/EN/EDA
While you’re at it, please sign up to be a member if you’re not already a member. Only members are permitted to vote in the upcoming leadership race, and in order to get involved with your local riding association, you need to be a member. Membership fees depend on your region, age, and income, but range from $0-$25 a year. You register as a member through this link: https://act.ndp.ca/donate/membership-en
Of course, as always, if you’d like to get involved with us as a volunteer, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/mdncFANazP2D2bVj9
My friends, we’re making things happen together, I hope you’re as psyched as I am for the days, weeks and months ahead.
