THE RECLAIMER: The donor-redirection campaign is now over, time to focus on reviving riding associations!
WE ARE WRAPPING UP THE DONOR REDIRECTION CAMPAIGN!
Hello, my friends! Starting today, we are no longer encouraging donors to redirect all of their central donations to riding associations. Our goal with this campaign was to redirect 5 to 10 per cent of all donors to support their riding associations. Based on what we’re seeing and hearing on our end, it’s safe to assume we’ve accomplished this.
After all, it’s thanks to the donor redirection campaign that we were able to successfully pressure the Federal Council to vote for a 7-month leadership race with a $100k entry fee rather than the 3-month-long race with a $150k entry fee that upper management wanted.
Of course, we still very much encourage you to support your riding associations; in fact, supporting riding associations is our primary mission. If you participated in the donor redirection campaign, it’s up to you to decide whether you want to start giving centrally again.
If you’re currently giving centrally and are considering withdrawing your donation because of the donor redirection campaign, please don’t, though, consider splitting the amount between the two.
Thanks to you, we’ve sent a clear message to upper management.
Now, we’ve got a job to do; there are hundreds of riding associations across the country that must be brought back to life.
We would appreciate your help in doing this.
JOIN OUR DISCORD (FACEBOOK GROUP COMING SOON!)
Our Discord server has become our virtual HQ. We have about 250 members on there, and the server is filled with constant conversation about everything NDP.
It’s also become a great place to go if you don’t know where to start in terms of getting involved with your riding association/creating a riding association. The server is filled with folks from all corners of the country and the party, and they’re all happy to help.
To rebuild this party, we need to build a network of progressive communities across Canada, and we’d love to have your help with this. Here’s the link: https://discord.gg/CjZvTmbtny
And for those of you who don’t know about Discord and would rather use something more familiar, we’re in the process of getting a Facebook group set up.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to provide you with an update about this next week.
APPLY TO BE A REGIONAL ORGANIZER!
As we announced last week, we’re currently looking to set up regional organizing teams across the country! Our regional organizers are focused on strengthening and building up riding associations in their region.
Experience isn’t required, but it’s good to know if you’ve done something similar before.
Sound like something you’d like to do? https://forms.gle/eB7jqGVXqkcw8xRV9
